Blood collection site and posture
Infants and young children can draw blood from the inner and outer edges of the thumb or heel according to the method recommended by the World Health Organization. The veins in the head and neck or the anterior fontanelle are preferred. Adults choose the median cubital vein, back of hand, wrist joint, etc. without congestion and edema. The veins of some patients are on the back of the elbow joint. Outpatients are mostly sitting, and patients in the ward are mostly lying. When drawing blood, ask the patient to relax, keep the environment warm, prevent venous contracture, and do not restrain for too long. It is forbidden to pat the arm, otherwise it may cause local blood concentration or activate the coagulation system. Try to choose a thick and easy-to-fix blood vessel for puncture to ensure that blood is drawn with one needle. The needle insertion angle is generally 20-30°. After seeing the blood return, move forward slightly parallel to the needle and then put on the vacuum tube. Some patients have low blood pressure. After puncture, no blood return is seen, but after putting on the negative pressure tube, the blood flows out naturally. 3. Strictly check the validity period of the blood collection tube. It must be used within the validity period, and it must not be used if there are foreign objects or sediments in the blood collection tube. 4. Paste the barcode correctly. Print the barcode according to the doctor's instructions, and paste it on the front after checking that it is correct. The barcode cannot cover the scale on the blood collection tube.

Blood samples must be sent for testing within 2 hours after collection to minimize influencing factors. When sending blood samples for testing, avoid strong light exposure, wind and rain, and prevent freezing, high temperature, shaking, and hemolysis.

Storage temperature
The storage environment temperature of blood collection tubes is 4-25℃. If the storage temperature is 0℃ or below 0℃, it may cause the blood collection tube to rupture.

Protective latex sleeve The latex sleeve at the end of the puncture needle can prevent bleeding and contamination of the surrounding area after the blood collection tube is removed, and play a role in sealing blood collection to prevent environmental pollution. The latex sleeve must not be removed. When collecting blood samples in multiple tubes, the rubber of the blood collection needle may be damaged. If damaged, blood spills, which should be adsorbed first and then disinfected.
